Minimum costs to conserve 80% of the Brazilian Amazon

“To protect about 80% of the Brazilian Amazon requires something between USD 1.7 and 2.8 billion. This amount is three times less than what the Bolsonaro government spent on parliamentary amendments”, says professor Fabio Scarano (PPGE/UFRJ) in an article published in the journal Perspectives in Ecology and Conservation.
